  1. I had a friend from bolivia.

    it's a very beautiful country.

  2. Bolivia is no the only land-locked country, there is also Paraguay. They actually had a war, (Bolivia and Paraguay, that is) over an extension of land called The Chaco.

Something that would catch your attention is that, during the Spanish Colonial times, the mine of Potosi in Bolivia was the richest mine in the colonies. So rich that San Luis Potosi in Mexico was named after it. (They mined silver, by the way).

Also, the area around the Titicaca lake (Peru and Bolivia) is believed to be where the potatoe comes from.

  3. Why DID you pick Bolivia?

It could be pointed out that Bolivia is the only land-locked country in South America (no outlet to the sea).  (Double check this fact, 'cause now that I think about it, I'm not 100% sure it's true that it's the only one.)

Bolivia is a very poor country, even though it is rich in minerals.  I've seen depictions of a pauper, sitting on a gold throne, to represent Bolivia.

Certainly one aspect that makes Bolivia unique is its present President.  First of the indigenous  to be elected  President, even though Bolivia has a lot of indigenous people.  And what a character he is!  I personally don't like that he's so anti-US!  (But that's my personal opinion.)

Bolivia has "two cultures."  Almost like having two countries in one.

I hope I've given you at least a couple of ideas to go on.  It could be a start of further research.

    Good Luck!
