Bolivia visa requirement for Americans?

Has it gone into effect yet? I can't find any information online.

  1. None, I was there In a connection flight back to Miami from buenos Aires, and they didn't ask for anything they just stamp the American passport, no question asked.

    came back to be sure, yes you do need a visa for Bolivia, read this from the US gov:

    A U.S. passport valid for at least six months from the date of proposed entry into Bolivia is required to enter and depart Bolivia.  On January 1, 2007, the Bolivian President decreed that U.S. citizens need visas to enter Bolivia for any purpose.  The Bolivian Foreign Ministry is formulating procedures to implement this decree.  Please visit the Embassy of Bolivia web site at http://www.bolivia-usa.org
