Bollinger targets Kevin Pietersen in upcoming Ashes
Doug Bollinger, Australia’s fit-again pace bowler, has said that he intends to remain quiet and let out of form Kevin Pietersen's ego get him out in the upcoming Ashes series which gets underway from 25th of November.
The left-arm fast bowler, who has recovered from an abdominal strain, has a repute of sledging batsmen but has his own plans to defy the forceful hitting of KP (Kevin Pietersen) should he be given the opportunity to share the new ball.
He intends becoming inhibited while delivering to Kevin as he feels sledging from him will only provoke the belligerent middle order batsman. "I don't think I will say much to Kevin Pietersen because I think that's what he likes", Bollinger
told reporters. "I think I might put him off his game by not saying anything and let his ego get him out", he added.
But the left-arm pacer opined that he would not be taciturn in letting other English batsmen know his feelings in the heat of an Ashes battle.
"I tend to say a lot of things when I get angry and get a bit upset and a bit hot and flustered but we're playing for the Ashes", said Bollinger. "It's a massive thing. It's something I've always wanted to be part of my whole life and I'm
sure it is for everyone else. So if one of the guys gets into a contest, I'm going to be right behind them as a team should be".
Bollinger, who had suffered an abdominal strain in the Mohali Test earlier this month, revealed that he was over the muscular strain and was planning on a return to cricket after two weeks.
He will be making a Sydney club game on 13th of November, before playing in a Sheffield Shield clash four days later in his push to prove his fitness to be picked for the Ashes opener starting at the Gabba, in Brisbane on 25th
of next month. He rated himself “100 per cent fit” and was pretty hopeful of getting totally fit before the 1st Test of The Ashes series.
Over the last 11 months Bollinger has played 10 Tests picking up 47 wickets but he has yet to play a Test match against his Ashes rivals.
