Bologna defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Miguel-Britos-c25544 99 percent close to joining Napoli: Serie A news
Bologna Vice-President, Maurizio Setti, has revealed that defender, Miguel Angel Britos, is extremely close to joining Italian giants, Napoli.
Setti confirmed that the Azzurri are 99% close of sealing a move and only few minor formalities are left to be agreed. Britos has attracted interest from host of Italian clubs, including, Genoa and Juventus but it seems that Napoli
have won the race to sign him.
Talking to the reporters Setti said, “We cannot make it official yet, as we wait for Aurelio De Laurentiis to do that, but we are very close. I’d say that Britos is 99 per cent a Napoli player. The other 1 per cent will be put
in place by De Laurentiis, as is only right.”
“I can say Aronica was suggested as a hypothesis, but I’ll let the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 President reveal exactly how the negotiations have concluded. Will a Napoli player be wearing the Bologna shirt this season? We hope so...I don’t think there
will be an official announcement until at least Monday, even though there are only the smallest details to finalise. Basically all sides agree with this move.”
The Azzurri had a wonderful 2010/11 campaign, as they finished third in the Serie A table and qualified for UEFA Champions League after 21 years. Napoli manager, Walter Mazzarri, is looking to build on the success of last season
and has identified a several players as his transfer target. Mazzarri is a huge admirer of the Uruguayan and believes that he can be a great addition to Napoli squad.
Reports in the media claim that Napoli are looking to offer a sum of around €10m and will also include couple of fringe players in the deal.
Britos joined the Italian side from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Montevideo-Wanderers-c39944 in 2008 and since then, he has made 70 appearances for the Rossoblu. The 25-year-old has become one of the best defenders in the country and has commanded the games with
his aerial displays.
The defender made 35 appearances for Bologna in the 2010/11 campaign and played a huge role in distancing the club from relegation.
