The Jamaican has voiced his desire to sign for the Red Devils, claiming that he could impress Sir Alex Ferguson with his pace and football ability.
Following his spectacular win at the London Olympics, Usain Bolt has set new standards in the field of sprinting and continues to defy the odds. His position in the public has allowed him several privileges and one of them has been meeting with his boyhood
club Manchester United back in 2009.
An avid footballer, Bolt has taken a keen interest in the beautiful game and reiterated that he would one day like to play at Old Trafford.
While his pace maybe something to baulk, his skills with the ball are not. A recent video released by him on the social website YouTube, targeted Sir Alex Ferguson and was aimed at showcasing a trial for him.
Though most thought that it was just another comical promotion, Bolt has come out and revealed the complete opposite, saying that he was serious about playing professional football with the Premier League giants.
Although Fergie is unlikely to be convinced anytime soon, the 100-meter race champion is so sure of his abilities that he claimed he could be a direct replacement for United legend http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ryan-Giggs-c31985.
"Ideally, if I was to play football, I'd sign for my favorite team -- Manchester United. People say it's not realistic but nobody has seen me play so you never know. If Alex Ferguson saw me in one of those http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Charity-c38784 matches he might think I could replace Ryan
Giggs."
"People think I am joking. But if http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alex-c4752 Ferguson called me up and said, 'OK let's do this, come and have a trial', it would be impossible for me to say no. I am in Britain for a few more days. If Alex Ferguson wants to give me a call he knows where I am,”
he said.
While the Scottish tactician is unlikely to afford any chances to the 25-year-old, his unnerving desire to take up football could possibly lead a trial with the Reds in the future and perhaps fulfill Bolt’s long standing wish.
