Bolton Wanderers midfielder http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mark-Davies-c24112 revealed he was willing to put everything aside, including his friendship, when his side took on Wolverhampton Wanderers over the weekend.
Davies was born in Wolverhampton and joined the Wolves Youth Academy at the tender age of nine, graduating into the senior team in 2005. During the period between 2007-2009, the midfielder went on to make 27 appearances in the league and even scored one
goal.
After a loan spell to Leicester City in 2008-2009, Davies made a move to the Trotters. He has been with them since then and claimed he was loyal to his current side despite having friends at Wolverhampton Wanderers. So far Davies has made 67 appearances
in the Premier League and has scored 2 goals for Bolton Wanderers.
Davies said while speaking to reporters:
“We know it's a massive game.
I know a whole load of their team from when I used to play there and am still good friends with a lot of them.”
Matt Jarvis and Wayne Hennessey are known to be amongst his closest friends amongst others, but the player insisted that would not come in his way during the match. The English midfielder was entirely focused on a win at the Reebok Stadium over the weekend.
He continued:
“Though saying that, it's safe to say friendships will be put on hold until after the final whistle. In the run-up to the game I'll be solely focused on the match.”
As for the poor results his side have been facing in the Premier League, the midfielder revealed he was a bit puzzled. After a win over Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385, the Trotters went on to lose to Newcastle United and remain in the bottom half of the table.
He revealed all the players were disappointed with the current form and were looking to return to winning ways, starting with the match against Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Davies continued:
“It's hard to put your finger on why we're not picking up results. The mood is always good in training and everyone gives their all.
Things need to change and hopefully they will when we play http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952.”
