Stuart Holden out for another six weeks
Reports reveal Bolton Wanderers midfielder Stuart Holden will be out for another six weeks after it emerged that he requires yet another surgery on his knee. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/United-States-c3034 international was scheduled to return to first team action for the Premier League side soon after making various appearances for the reserve team, but it seems he will need more time before he returns to full fitness.
The 26-year-old sustained a broken leg against Manchester United last season and has been on the long road to recovery since then. Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle decided to start with Holden against Aston Villa in the Carling Cup clash and the midfielder did really well, suggesting he was prepared for a return to Premier League action.
Unfortunately, it turns out he requires another surgery before he can be declared fit for a return to the squad. The doctors have told the club that it is not yet safe for Holden to return to playing since he needs another surgery that is detrimental to the player’s fitness. While Coyle was understandably disappointed, he insisted the player’s long-term fitness was more important than rushing his return to the team.
Coyle said on the club’s official website:
“Our prime concern has always been Stuart's welfare and his long-term health and fitness.
It was looking likely that the operation could be scheduled for next summer, but after follow-up consultations with the specialists we have brought the date forward.”
Tom Huddleston to undergo operation
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Tom-Huddlestone-c35227, the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder, is set to undergo an ankle operation which means he will miss the upcoming fixtures, Harry Redknapp confirmed. The Tottenham Hotspur boss revealed the 24-year-old would be undergoing yet another operation on his ankle, which meant the club would have to do without his service for some time.
Redknapp confirmed:
“He needs another operation. He's already had one but there is still a problem with him. It's a blow. He will be out for a while.”
The English midfielder transferred to White Hart Lane from Derby County in the January transfer window of 2005 and has gone on to make 171 appearances in all competitions, scoring 14 goals and providing 21 assists. So far he has made just four appearances for the London side, with his injury making him unavailable for selection. It is not certain when Huddlestone will return for Tottenham Hotspur.
