Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle blames tough fixtures for poor start after 2-1 loss to Norwich City
Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle revealed he was looking forward to putting his side’s disappointing 2-1 defeat to newly promoted side Norwich City in the English Premier League over the weekend with a win over Aston Villa in the mid-week Carling Cup
fixture.
While the Trotters got off to a decent start to the new season, securing a 4-0 win over Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314, they have since then not been doing too well. While Bolton Wanderers had a tough list of fixtures in the new campaign, facing the likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, Coyle admitted he expected an easy win against Norwich City and was disappointed when his side lost.
Coyle said while speaking to reporters:
“It's certainly a case of having some very tough fixtures, that's for sure. We were disappointed on Saturday because it's a game we probably felt we should be winning.”
He continued:
“I think a few things conspired against us but ultimately we didn't perform well enough in the first half. The second half we certainly did and we were very unlucky not to salvage a point.
Given the set of fixtures, if we'd have been sitting here with six points, we'd have been in a very healthy position.”
The Trotters manager felt his club would have done better if they had not faced the top Premier League sides so early on in the season. Coyle was certain the squad would have done better than where they were right now, way above the relegation zone.
