Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle denies row with Arsene Wenger ahead of Arsenal trip
Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle revealed there were no hard feelings between him and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger. The Trotters travel to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal this Saturday and all the attention will be on the pair who had a falling
out during the summer transfer window over defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Cahill-c14439.
Arsenal were heavily linked with the 25-year-old http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 international, but because of their low valuation of the player, he wasn’t allowed to leave the Reebok Stadium. Cahill criticized the French manager for not offering a decent price for the highly rated
centre-back.
It was because of the Gunner’s unwillingness to meet Bolton Wanderers’ price tag for Cahill that the defender has remained with the Trotters this campaign. Cahill was expected to leave to join a bigger club, having expressed his desire to play UEFA Champions
League football earlier on.
Coyle denied there was tension between the Frenchman and himself and revealed that he was an admirer of the Arsenal boss. He said he had faced Wenger many times and there was no tension going into the fixture over the weekend.
Coyle said in an interview:
“I am a huge admirer of Arsene Wenger.
I have come up against him many times and there will be no tension.”
Coyle felt Wenger was one of the best managers in the English Premier League, even though his side have not had the best of starts to the new season. Arsenal have managed to secure just four points from the opening five games of the English Premier League.
He said:
“Arsene Wenger is one of the best managers in world football, and always will be.
But we have to accept football is a game of opinions and criticism comes along the way.
I feel he is the perfect fit for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 though, given their history and tradition and the way they have evolved over the years.”
Coyle believed that Wenger was an exceptional manager and had been really good for the Gunners, even though the past few seasons haven’t been the best. He was certain the London side had the potential to reclaim the top position in the Premier League.
The Bolton Wanderers manager felt that if the French manager had been given the same resources as some of the managers in the Premier League, he would have been able to build an excellent squad; a team that could guarantee trophies every season.
Coyle continued:
“Yes, they would like a trophy, but look at the players he has brought to the club.
Maybe if he had the same resources as other managers of the biggest clubs, you would see an Arsenal side with different personnel.”
