Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle revealed he was certain English Premier League rivals http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 would make another bid for English defender Gary Cahill in the upcoming transfer window. The Gunners were determined to sign the 25-year-old central defender
but were unable to do so as they failed to meet Bolton Wanderers’ valuation of the player.
Cahill was heavily linked with a host of top English Premier League sides in the summer transfer window, including Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. While Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea seemed to lose interest towards the end of the summer transfer
window, Arsenal continued their pursuit. They are believed to have offered a bid, which was not acceptable to the Trotters.
Coyle had revealed that the player had spoken to him regarding a possible move away in the summer to a top four club. The Scotsman insisted he was willing to let Cahill leave, as long as the offer made was acceptable. Unfortunately for Cahill, his dream
of playing UEFA Champions League football could not be realized since Arsenal’s bid fell short of Bolton Wanderers’ expectations.
However, Coyle was certain Arsenal would resume their interest in the defender once the January transfer window began. Bolton Wanderers are travelling to the Emirates Stadium to take on Arsenal this weekend and all eyes will be on Cahill, with the defender
expected to leave his current side soon for the Gunners. The Trotters boss admitted he expected Cahill to leave as soon as a decent deal came in.
Coyle said while speaking to reporters:
“I wouldn't be surprised if they came back. Arsene has always said he is an admirer of Gary Cahill. But the clubs never agreed a fee.”
Despite the knowledge that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will be keeping a close watch on his possible signing, Coyle revealed the England international had nothing to prove. With terrific performances for Bolton Wanderers, which earned him a spot in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749
squad, Coyle revealed Cahill was a top player who would go on to be one of the top defenders in the Premier League.
He continued:
“Gary has nothing to prove. He is a top performer, who is set for a glittering career.”
