Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has praised defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Cahill-c14439 for giving his all for the Trotters despite having agreed a fee with English Premier League giants Chelsea.
In the midweek clash against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 N’Gog equalized just four minutes later.
It was Gary Cahill, who had once again been named captain for the Wanderers, scored the winning goal. His shot gave his side a much needed win and three points which see them climb out of the bottom of the Premier League table.
Coyle recognized the fact that it had to be tough for Cahill to focus on Bolton Wanderers when he knew he was leaving the club soon to join http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786. After a meeting, it was agreed that the English defender would join the Blues in the January transfer window.
The Bolton Wanderers boss said in an interview:
“It can't be easy when it is a club of Chelsea's stature and a fee has been agreed.
To be fair to them, I think they have respected the fact that we had a huge game tonight and have not then had further dialogue - we expect that they will possibly in the next few days.
But while that continues, Gary shows tremendous mental character and desire for Bolton Wanderers, because he knows, as we know, how good a club this has been for him.”
According to Coyle, Cahill had shown great mental strength to lead Bolton Wanderers to victory by not only wearing the captain’s armband but also by scoring the winning goal. He expected the Blues to be in touch with him regarding the defender soon.
He revealed they had so far only had a single meeting with Chelsea and expected the English Premier League giants to return with a counter offer. While a fee had already been agreed, there were personal details which were currently undecided.
Coyle continued:
“I am led to believe that he has been away, so I think that is where we are.
If Mr Abramovich sanctions whatever he wants to sanction, then they will take it from there.”
