Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has revealed he is confident his side can be optimistic ahead of the second half of the season after a successful winter transfer window.
After the 0-0 draw against Arsenal, Bolton Wanderers are currently two points clear of the relegation zone. During the January transfer window, the Trotters went on to sign some new players and will be expecting some injured players to make their comeback
soon.
Coyle said while speaking to reporters:
“The great thing for me was we went toe-to-toe with a great side and the last 15 minutes we were the team looking to win the game.
I think we have had a decent window and to get the quality of the likes of Marvin Sordell, an http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 Under-21 international, augurs well for the second half of the season.”
Despite the single point gained from the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 match, the Scottish manager was pleased with his side’s performance. He believed they had done well to hold off the Gunners and secure a point from the fixture which they had gone in as underdogs.
The Trotters boss defended his side’s poor start, claiming they had not been in the best of forms because of the tough fixture list and the fact that most of their players had been missing due to injury. It was for this reason they had been unable to remain
in good form.
Coyle continued:
“The bottom line is you have to address what is front of you but we have stayed consistent as we have belief, we have good players and know what we are doing.”
However, with the players returning and the new arrivals, Coyle felt his side would improve greatly for the remainder of the season. Meanwhile, the manager revealed he had managed to convince captain http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Davies-c20716 to remain at the club and help them avoid
relegation at the end of the season even though he had been linked with a move away in the winter transfer window.
Coyle continued:
“He wants to be at Bolton, I want him at Bolton and it was a no-brainer what was going to happen in the January window.”
