Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle not afraid of being sacked, criticises players
Owen Coyle, the Bolton Wanderers manager, revealed he was not scared of being sacked as the manager of the English Premier League side and would continue to fight on. His side are currently at the bottom of the Premier League table as the Christmas period
approaches.
It was their 12th defeat of the season over the weekend against Aston Villa that caused them to drop to the bottom of the Premier League. If they continue on as they are, they will most definitely face relegation at the end of the season.
However, Coyle is determined to lead his side out of the relegation zone and despite pressure for delivering good results, wishes to continue on. The fans are undoubtedly pressurizing the manager, but according to Coyle, he had the board’s backing.
Coyle said while speaking to reporters:
“I have been long enough in the game to know it's a results business, regardless of what I put in place in the football club and the building bricks for longevity and to move forward.”
Coyle acknowledged the fact that his side had not been in the best of forms, but revealed that in no way meant that he would quit. The Scottish manager insisted he was not a quitter and would keep trying to find a solution for Bolton Wanderers revival.
He revealed:
“Whatever it is, it is. I have never run from a fight in my life but if someone felt there was a better solution for the football club, I have no problem with that.”
Meanwhile, the Bolton Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside claimed that the Scotsman still retained the board’s support. He claimed that they were not thinking of replacing him in the near future and wished to continue on with the highly committed manager.
Gartside said in an interview:
“Owen is our man. We are working to a longer term here. He is committed to it and we are committed to the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 in hand. Owen is a big part of that project.”
Coyle is not too impressed with his players, who have shown lack of motivation, something which was apparent against Aston Villa. It was only after giving away the 2-0 lead that the Trotters seemed to come to life. It has earned them criticism from Owen
Coyle, who feels they could have done better.
