Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle pleased with new arrivals: David N’Gog and Gael Kakuta
Bolton Wanderers have signed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 N’Gog, the 22-year-old former Liverpool striker, on a three year deal and Chelsea forward Gael Kakuta on a loan move until the January transfer window. Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle revealed he was extremely pleased at having signed the two players and was confident they would help further strengthen the squad for the new season.
While Coyle had been eyeing N’Gog for some time, he was unable to secure a move until now. The former France under-21 international joined Liverpool in 2008 from Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain. However, he didn’t quite make the impact he was expected to make and after Rafa Benitez was sacked, failed to establish himself in the starting XI under Roy Hodgson or Kenny Dalglish.
During his three seasons at Anfield, the French striker made a total of 94 appearances in all competitions and found the back of the net 19 times. After 25 appearances in the English Premier League last season, most of which came as a substitute, N’Gog decided it was time for a move away. He was attracted to Bolton Wanderers, a side where he knew he would be guaranteed regular first team football.
Coyle said in an interview:
“David will be a great addition to our squad. He is quick, can score goals and he knows what the Premier League is all about.
Added to that there is his European experience with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 in the Champions and Europa Leagues.”
Coyle was confident N’Gog would prove to be a successful signing, with the youngster having displayed quick pace and an eye for goal in the few chances he was given at Liverpool. Coyle was certain the Frenchman’s experiences in the Champions League, Europa League and at the international level with his national team had given him the necessary experience to go on to be a top player at the Reebok Stadium.
In addition to N’Gog, Coyle has added Chelsea youngster Gael Kakuta to his squad for the first half of the season on a loan move. The 20-year-old winger c*m striker will be following in the footsteps of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 under-21 international who also spent half a season at Bolton Wanderers before establishing a place in the starting XI at Stamford Bridge.
It seems http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 under-20 international to Bolton Wanderers. He is hoping Coyle can help develop and improve Kakuta like he did with Daniel Sturridge, who went on to make 12 appearances in the English Premier League and scored 8 goals.
The Bolton Wanderers manager continued:
“I'm delighted that Chelsea have enabled us to take Gael on loan and I'd like to thank (manager) Andre Villas-Boas and the club for that.
He is someone whose progress we have tracked since he first broke into the Chelsea first team a couple of years ago.
He is skilful, quick, exciting to watch and I'm really looking forward to working with him.”
