Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle admitted he was pleased with his side’s 2-1 win over Blackburn Rovers, but at the same time revealed he felt for the Rovers boss Steve Kean.
In what was the battle for the bottom spot in the English Premier League table, Bolton Wanderers travelled to Ewood Park to take on Blackburn Rovers in the mid-week Premier League fixture. The result was to determine who would be bottom of the table for
the festive Christmas period.
While the Trotters started the game at the bottom of the table, the win sees them secure the spot second from last. It is now Blackburn Rovers who occupy the last spot, which has only intensified rumours suggesting Kean will lose his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 soon.
Coyle said while speaking to reporters:
“We're in a position that's self-inflicted. With the magnitude of the game and the position of both teams, it was one we wanted and I thought we should have put the game to bed.”

a defeat.
The Wanderers manager hailed the Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 team’s fighting spirit and the display they put on for their manager. Sadly, in the end it wasn’t enough.
Coyle revealed:
“The (home) fans can say what they want but you can see the spirit they (the Blackburn players) have for Steve.”
The Scotsman was happy with his side’s win but was disappointed at the fate that awaited his counterpart at Blackburn Rovers. Coyle understood that it could very easily have been him on the losing end, which is why he remained humble in victory.
He admitted:
“As a manager, I feel for him because it could easily have been the shoe on the other foot. He's a great lad. I've no doubts he's a terrific manager but one of us was going to be smiling more than the other tonight - barring the draw - and I'm delighted
to come out on the right side of the result.”
