Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle has revealed that while he was pleased with his side’s win over Swansea City in the FA Cup fixture, he felt they could have won by a bigger margin.
The Trotters were the better side when the match kicked off but Swansea City managed to take the lead in the 43rd minute. It was Darren Pratley who scored the equalizer for Bolton Wanderers and former Manchester United man http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chris-c9006 Eagles who scored
the winner just 11 minutes after the second half resumed.
However, despite the 2-1 lead in the early half of the second half of the match Bolton Wanderers were unable to retain a comfortable lead. Swansea City maintained the pressure and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-c10193 Graham almost scored another goal which could have earned them a replay.
Coyle revealed he was pleased with his side, who had done well in the fixture, but felt they could have done even better to write off the game after the match winning goal. He praised the opposition, who he believed had decent players but felt his side were
the deserving winners.
Coyle said while speaking to reporters:
“It was more than a win - I thought we were excellent. We started the game really well and felt really hard done by to lose the opening goal, because we had various chances to be in front.
Swansea have some very good players and that proved to be the case. The reaction was great and we went in at half-time level, but we should have been in front.
Then in the second half we scored a great goal and should have added to it if the truth be told.”
However, the Scottish manager urged his side to learn from the narrow FA Cup win and be more clinical in the future, that is score more goals and get a more comfortable win. He also went on to say how his side deserved the win since they had created more
chances and had scored more goals.
Coyle continued:
“We played well and created a lot of chances, but should have scored more goals than we did.”
