Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle reveals http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Stuart-Holden-c34260 could return in October
Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle revealed that he could have to do without Stuart Holden, the 25 year old midfielder, until October.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/United-States-c3034 international underwent surgery after picking up an injury due to which he was sidelined for the last two months of the last season.
He was expected to be fit for the new season, but unfortunately for the player and Coyle, that may not be the case and he could miss the start of the upcoming season.
The Bolton boss admitted he was extremely disappointed by the news that the former Sunderland and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Houston-Dynamo-c39542 star could not feature for the Wanderers at the start of the new season.
While Holden was confident about returning sooner than October, Coyle revealed they would have to wait from the medical reports confirmation before the player could be allowed to play.
He revealed he did not wish to pressurize or push the player towards an early return, with fear of aggravating his injury.
Coyle said while speaking to reporters:
“He's optimistic and he is improving, no doubt about it, but we have to make sure we pick the right moment to bring him back and not push him at all.”
The Bolton boss said he hoped to get Holden and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sam-Ricketts-c32291 back sooner than later, with both players expected to be out for a few months.
Coyle continued:
“If we get him back at that point I'd be absolutely thrilled - and the same goes for Sam Ricketts [who ruptured his Achilles tendon in February] as well - but we might just have to be a bit patient.”
Ricketts, the 29 year old full back, transferred to Bolton from Hull City in the summer of 2009 for an estimated fee of £2 million.
He made 44 appearances for the Wanderers in the English Premier League before picking up the dreaded Achilles injury.
Coyle revealed he was determined to welcome back the injured players, whose absence was a great loss for the club.
He said:
“Sometimes you find that with players, and I've said this about http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Davies-c20716 as well, but when they play all the time you start to take them for granted.”
