That he did and the England under-21 international flourished at the Reebok Stadium, he went on to score eight goals in 12 appearances for the Trotters.
His top goal scoring form for Bolton Wanderers is exactly why Owen Coyle is hoping the young forward decides to stay at the club for at least another season.
Coyle said in an interview:
“We'd love to get Daniel back. I don't think a permanent would be possible given what it would probably cost to bring him back.
As well, we've got to understand Daniel's own aspirations. He's an unbelievable kid, he really is.”
Sturridge on the other hand has other plans; the English striker is determined to return to Stamford Bridge for the new season.

However, he revealed he felt Sturridge would benefit more from another season at the Reebok Stadium instead of returning to Chelsea right away.
While he admitted Sturridge was an exceptional player, he felt there was still room for improvement, something he was not guaranteed at a top club like Chelsea.
The Bolton boss insisted the youngster’s best shot at developing into one of the top strikers in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749, if not Europe, was to remain with Bolton.
While he admitted he was aware Sturridge would not make a permanent move to Bolton, he said he was looking for another loan move for at least half a season.
He said:
“I would love it if Chelsea permit us to continue to help that development by another six-month period, we would love that.”
