Bolton Wanderers defender Gary Cahill talks about his rollercoaster of a season
Bolton Wanderers defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gary-Cahill-c14439 has admitted his season has been highly unpredictable. The 25-year-old England international was linked with a move away from the Reebok Stadium in the summer transfer window to a top four side, but in the end remained
with the Trotters.
The Wanderers have had a terrible start to the season and remain in the bottom half of the table after just two wins this season. While Cahill is not having the best of time with his club, he is doing incredibly well with country, having secured his place
in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 starting XI.
Cahill admitted he had difficulty in the summer transfer window, especially when he was under the impression he was leaving and then ended up staying at Bolton Wanderers. He revealed how little he had to do with the entire situation.
Cahill said while speaking to reporters:
“It's been difficult in the sense that one minute you think you're staying and the next you think you're going.
The worst thing about it is that everything is outside your control. It was strange in that sense and, for me, this season has been a bit of a rollercoaster.”
With England having done well in the 2012 Euro qualifiers, Cahill was disappointed with his club’s form in the Premier League. The defender had a brilliant start to the season, scoring a goal in the opening match of the season, but it was unfortunately followed
by six consecutive defeats.
He revealed:
“I was on a high at QPR, winning and scoring a goal, then on a low, losing and conceding a lot of goals after that.
I was on a high playing for England, scoring against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bulgaria-c2861 and keeping two clean sheets and then back down, playing Manchester United and conceding five.”
Bolton Wanderers poor form has led to rumours claiming manager Owen Coyle would be removed. However, Cahill was confident the Scotsman would retain his position at the club. The defender predicted an improvement in form for the Trotters, after which the
pressure on Coyle would be sizeably reduced.
Cahill said:
“I don't think his future is in doubt. You can see the run of games we've had.”
