Bolton Wanderers defender Marcos Alonso injured ahead of Liverpool clash
Bolton Wanderers defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 under-19 international will most likely miss the upcoming clash against Liverpool at Anfield over the weekend.
Bolton Wanderers are preparing to travel to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 to take on the Reds in the third English Premier League fixture of the new season. Bolton Wanderers boss Owen Coyle will be disappointed to lose the 20-year-old Alonso before the match.
While the club have yet to confirm the injury, Alonso revealed on his official Twitter profile that he had picked up an injury on Wednesday because of which he had to undergo surgery as a result of which he would most likely miss two months.
Alonso said:
“I broke my fifth metatarsal yesterday (on Wednesday). Having surgery soon and I will be out for about 6-8 weeks. Trying to be positive.”
The young Spaniard is a highly versatile player, being able to play as a defender and as a midfielder. While he functions best as a left-back, he can transform into a left winger if need be, which makes him a necessity in case of injuries in the squad.
Alonso began his senior career with Real Madrid B after graduating from the Real Madrid youth academy in 2008. After two years with the B side, Alonso went on to make his debut for the first team towards the end of the 2009-2010 season.

to make an appearance in the Premier League.
