Lee Chung-yong admits that he is in no hurry to decide on where he will be playing next season after Bolton were relegated from the Barclays Premier League last season.
Bolton Wanderers were one of three teams relegated during the course of the 2011/12 Barclays Premier League season. As a result the club had to reduce its wage bill considerably as they prepare for a season in the Championship.
The club did however manage to retain the services of talismanic skipper, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Davies-c20716, who signed a contract extension, which will keep him at the club for another year. At the same time Bolton are in talks with both Jussi Jaaskelainen and Zat Knight in order to discuss the possibility of prolonging their stay with the side.
One player who’s future is still up in the air is http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lee-Chung-Yong-c21873, who has is focusing on unwinding after an injury filled season before deciding on where he will be plying his trade next season.
He said, “I haven’t thought about my future yet. The season has just finishes and I just want to take some holiday now. I’m not going to hurry to think about my future because we have a few months before next season, but I can say now that I am a Bolton Wanderers player.”
Lee went on to state that no one expected the club to be relegated come the end of the season, “I didn’t expect that when we started the season.”
At the same time the Bolton Wanderers’ player gave the club’s fans a ray of hope when he explained that the manager had belief that there was sufficient talent in the side to ensure a quick return to the Barclays Premier League.
He said, “On our last day of the season the manager said we have many young, talented players and we can give a good performance in the Championship, so we can come back into the Premier League next season.”
It will be interesting to see where Lee ends up by the end of the summer transfer window as a number of clubs are lining up a bid for the talented midfielder.
