Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle to fine Ivan Klasnic over red card during 2-1 defeat to Norwich City
Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle revealed that he was considering fining http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivan-c17215 Klasnic after the player was sent off during the 2-1 loss to Norwich City at the Reebok Stadium. The 31-year-old striker was shown the red card before half time after a foul
on Norwich defender Marc Tierney.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Croatia-c2879 international reportedly head-butted Tierney, after which he was sent off, leaving his side down to ten men for the remainder of the match. With Bolton Wanderers having conceded two goals early on, it became harder for them to make a comeback
and the match ended to Norwich City.
Even though the Wanderers managed to score a consolation goal it will hardly change the fact that they have lost their last five games at the Reebok Stadium. The Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle revealed he was extremely displeased with Klasnic’s antics
during the match which had earned him the red card.
Coyle revealed that he had to take off Kevin Davies and Tuncay after Klasnic had been sent off to bring on defensive players for the rest of the game. He admitted he was considering a fine for the 31-year-old, who Coyle felt could have handled the situation
better.
Coyle said while speaking to reporters:
“The skipper [http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Davies-c20716] and Tuncay both had to be sacrificed because of Ivan's folly in getting himself sent off.
Will I fine him? He certainly knows my feelings on the subject.”
The Bolton Wanderers manager felt Klasnic was partially to blame for the loss to Norwich City and said he was too experienced to act out as he had. Having previously played for Nantes and Werder Bremen in addition to international level football, Coyle felt
Klasnic should have done better in the certain situation.
He continued:
“Sometimes, you can understand it when a young boy gets caught up in the heat of the moment, but he is an experienced player. He is a seasoned international who has played at the very highest level all his career.
"That is when you have to use your experience, because going down to 10 men when you are already 2-0 behind is not exactly ideal.”
