Owen Coyle makes the trip to the Britannia Stadium on Sunday knowing that it could be last game in the Barclays Premier League and has asked the fans to give them the boost they need.
Bolton Wanderers are flirting with relegation as the 2011/12 Barclays Premier League season nears it conclusion this weekend. Owen Coyle’s side currently sit in 18th spot in the league with both Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 and Wolverhampton Wanderers having
been handed their relegation letters (metaphorically speaking of course) already.
With 35 points on the board so far this season, Bolton know that nothing less than a win against Stoke City will keep them afloat in the league as Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 sit above them with 37 points.
At the same time, Bolton will be cheering for Manchester City to win the league this season for no reason other than to ensure their own survival as City take on QPR in their final game of the season.
However, even a draw for QPR would ensure Mark Hughes’ men’s survival as they would go on to 38 points and have a far superior goal difference to that of Bolton.
Bolton manager, Owen Coyle, though seems focused on the task at hand and claims that Bolton “were always going to have to go to Stoke and get a result.”
He explained how his side would have to put in one of their best performances of the season if they wanted anything out of the match, and that the players were more than capable of getting the result they need, especially away from home.
"Given the way we have played on our travels this year and the results that we have picked up, we are more than capable. Football is a game of high drama and things can change very quickly.”
Coyle also called on his 12th man to be in full voice on the occasion as his side look to give them something to cheer about.
"We really do appreciate the backing our fans continue to give us. We are taking a sell-out allocation to Stoke and we will need every single fan behind us at the Britannia Stadium."
