Bolton Wanderers skipper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Davies-c20716 backs Ivan Klasnic to score more goals
Bolton Wanderers captain Kevin Davies said he was certain striker Ivan Klasnic could provide adequate fire power in the new Premier League season. The Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle is on the look-out for strikers to strengthen his squad before the
summer transfer window and Davies felt Coyle didn’t have to look too far.
The 34-year-old England striker felt Klasnic could go on to establish himself as the first choice striker if he remained consistent throughout the season. The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Croatia-c2879 international has the ability to be in the right place at the right time, which makes him
an ideal striker. Despite not playing regularly last season, Klasnic managed to find the back of the net five times in 23 Premier League appearances.
Coyle was forced to consider other options after failing to secure the services of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 under-21 international spent the latter half of last season on loan to Reebok Stadium and did surprisingly well. Sturridge
made 12 appearances in the English Premier League and scored eight goals.
Davies admitted they were in need for more firepower, with the manager eyeing various players as possible signings. Coyle reportedly has his sights set on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 N’Gog, with the Reds manager Kenny Dalglish having announced he no longer had
any use for the 22-year-old former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 under-21 international.
Davies said in an interview:
“We are a bit light up front and I'm not sure what the manager has up his sleeve, but you know what you get from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ivan-c17215 inside that box.”
The Bolton Wanderers skipper continued:
“He is a clinical finisher. I have been fortunate to play with some good strikers but he generally hits the target.
We call him the 'sniffer' and he's usually in the right place. And more often than not he puts the ball in the back of the net.”
Davies was certain Klasnic would improve this season, having done considerably well last season despite being used mostly as a substitute. The Bolton skipper was certain his side could do well even if they didn’t bring in any more players in the summer transfer
window, as long as Klasnic stepped up and started scoring regularly.
Davies continued:
“He didn't start many games last year but still got nearly 10 goals off the bench.”
