Bolton Wanderers skipper Kevin Davies blames tough fixtures for poor start
Bolton Wanderers skipper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Davies-c20716 urged the Premier League side’s supporters to be patient as the team attempts to overturn their pathetic start to the season. The Trotters are currently at the bottom of the Premier League table with just three points
from the opening seven games of the new campaign.
Davies’ men suffered another disappointing loss at the weekend at the Reebok Stadium, with the visitors leaving with all three points. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Sturridge-c10076 scoring
a brace.
The Trotters captain admitted his side had not been in the best of forms this season, but was certain they would improve as the season progressed. He pleaded with the unhappy fans to be supportive and patient as Bolton Wanderers tried to return to winning
ways.
Davies revealed that while he did not necessarily expect his team to win all their fixtures, especially against the top sides, he expected them to win against the mid-table sides. Unfortunately for the Trotters, they have mostly been up against the top sides
so far.
Davies said while speaking to reporters:
“I know the fans are not too happy and rightly so. We've suffered some heavy defeats here and haven't got any points at home, so we need to do more.
While we might not be expected to beat the top teams, we need to compete. It's becoming more difficult but the manner of the defeats haven't been good enough.”
The 34-year-old admitted the fact that they had been up against the top sides was the main reason why they had failed to establish many wins. After their latest fixture, Bolton Wanderers have already faced Manchester United, Manchester City, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429
and Chelsea.
He continued:
“We'll address the issues that need addressing and get on with it. Hopefully, we can be judged on this next set of five or six fixtures where we will have to pick up points.
I don't want to hide behind the fixtures but we have been dealt a cruel set.”
Davies said that while he did not want to blame the fixtures entirely, he felt they were a big reason for the Trotters poor start. With relatively easier fixtures coming up ahead after the international break, Bolton Wanderers can expect to do better and
climb out of the relegation zone.
