The relegation battle heats up as Bolton take on Sunderland and Wolverhampton Wanderers’ fate could be decided if they lose to Swansea City in the Barclays Premier League.
Sunday will be all about the title race, yet Saturday sees a number of matches take place that are crucial for a number of clubs who wish to avoid the drop to the Championship.
Sunderland v Bolton Wanderers – 3:00pm Kick-off
The Stadium of Light is the venue as Martin O’Neil’s men will be looking for that could take their side as high as eighth place in the league. Currently on 44 points, a win would lift them above http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 who do not play until later in the day.
Sunderland have made a habit of drawing matches recently having drawn four out of their six previous outings in the Barclays Premier League. Their other two results were a win against Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 on the 24th of March and a 4-0 defeat at
the hands of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043.
On the other hand Bolton need a win to lift themselves out of the relegation zone and will be buoyed by their comeback win against Aston Villa in midweek.
If one was to look at their form then Bolton do seem the favourites to come away with three points as they have a total of 10 points from a possible 18, although Sunderland’s ability to draw matches could cancel things out in the end.
Swansea v Wolverhampton Wanderers – 3:00pm Kick-off
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 will travel to the Liberty Stadium knowing that anything less than a win will be the final nail in their relegation coffin. However, their manager, Terry Connor, is not one to lie down and roll over and will be pushing his side to get a result on
the weekend.
However, if one was to see their recent form any result that could benefit the side seems highly unlikely as Wolves have lost five of their previous six matches and only have one draw to show otherwise.
On the other hand Swansea City will be looking to make the most of home advantage as they recover from a losing streak. Having won and drawn they previous two matches, the side will be looking for a win to lift themselves higher up the Barclays Premier League
table.
West Bromwich Albion v Aston Villa – 3:00pm Kick-off
The home side can go level on points with Everton if they secure a win against the Villans on the weekend. Roy Hodgson’s men will be in high spirits after their win at Anfield last week and will surely be looking to build on that result.
As for Aston Villa, well they need at least a draw to avoid getting sucked deeper into the relegation dogfight.
It is difficult seeing anything other than a West Brom win unless Aston Villa can do otherwise.
