Coyle expects his Bolton Wanderers side to continue putting in the same performances as they did against Swansea and Aston Villa as the Wanderers look to avoid relegation.
Bolton Wanderers find themselves in a dangerous position as they occupy a place in the Barclays Premier League relegation zone. Currently in 18th place, Owen Coyle’s side are only one point behind fellow strugglers, Wigan Athletic.
However, Bolton do have a game in hand, which if they win, could take them above Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 in 16th place, depending on other results of course.
That means Bolton have a real shot at avoiding the drop to the Championship if they continue their impressive run, which has seen the club pick up 13 points in their previous seven games, through to the end of the season.
Owen Coyle’s side face Sunderland, Tottenham Hotspur, West Bromwich Albion and Stoke City in their final four games of the season and one could see Bolton picking up a fair number of points during the run-in.
The Bolton manager admits that his side are used to be written off but that his side had grown used to it.
He said, "When QPR picked up a big result at the weekend against Tottenham, all of a sudden there was a four-point gap to us and people again wanted to write us off. We've become accustomed to that, so what we will do is look to keep on showing people they're
getting it wrong.”
Coyle believes that his club’s recent draw with Swansea City and win against Aston Villa should silence a number of critics yet he acknowledges the fact that the results reflected the spirit of the players.
“If my players didn’t have belief and trust in each other then they would have felt sorry for themselves and crumbled. But they picked themselves up, dusted themselves down and came roaring back in both games, culminating in us taking four points from the
two matches.”
The manager also took a moment to warn the other clubs in the Barclays Premier League not to take teams in the relegation zone lightly during the next few matches as he believed that the past form goes out the window when it’s “everybody for themselves”,
which is the case at the moment.
