Phil Gartside, the Bolton chairman, has revealed that the club has offered two of their players new deals and are waiting to hear back from them.
Bolton Wanderers ended the 2011/12 Barclays Premier League season in 18th place, which resulted in their relegation from the top tier of English football. Owen Coyle, the club’s manager, however was able to keep them in the fight for survival
until the last day of the season where the club needed to beat Stoke City and hope that Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 lost their match in order to survive.
Although Manchester City pulled out a rousing comeback to not only beat QPR in the dying seconds of the match, but also to win the league, Bolton were not able to get the three points they needed in order to assure their survival.
The club is now focusing on cutting their costs and have released 12 of their players including Gretar Steinsson and Milos Krasic. However the club do want to retain the services of goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen and defender Zat Knight.

Gartside said, "It was important that we kept what was going to be a Premiership squad together," before continuing, "The only disappointment is Nigel Reo-Coker decided to invoke his get-out clause. You move on and we'll replace him with somebody else that's
going to be as good, if not better.”
As for the rest of the squad, the club seem confident that they will retain the spine of the side with a number of players already having signed new deals.
"Martin Petrov's contract is already in place and his contract runs out at the end of next season. He's indicated that he's more than happy to stay.” Gartisde pointed out.
He continued, "Zat Knight and Jussi were out of contract this year and we've made them offers. Watch this space, we're still waiting for replies from them."
Bolton Wanderers now face a season in the Championship and will be looking to bounce back and make it to the Barclays Premier League once again.
