Bolton Wanderers find themselves on the wrong end of the Barclays Premier League table as they currently sit in 18th place in the Barclays Premier League, yet stand a great chance of jumping to safety as they have a game in hand.
Owen Coyle’s men have played a total of 34 games so far this season with Wigan Athletic, Queens Park http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rangers-c40314 and Aston Villa each having played a total of 35 matches. That statistic is important because depending on results, Bolton could go level on points
with Villa if they win their game in hand and thus send themselves clear of the relegation zone.
Bolton will face Sunderland, Tottenham, West Brom and Stoke City in the final four games of the season and will be looking to continue their impressive form. The side have picked up a total of 10 points out of a possible 18 and its runs like those that can
mean the difference between survival or a drop into the Championship.
Owen Coyle’s men did the manager and the fans a huge favour by winning their match against Aston Villa despite going down by a goal. However, goal from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-c10409 Ngog, wrapped up a fine result
for the Bolton side.
Bolton winger, Chris Eagles, was delighted with the performance and was quick to praise his fellow players. He said, “The performance showed our team spirit and that our trip to Dubai has worked and had brought everyone together.”
He continued, “We’ve put pressure on the teams above us and we have still got another game in hand. The game against Aston Villa was about was not necessarily playing well but winning, but we have come here and done both.”
Eagles praised the collective effort of the entire squad from goalkeeper to striker, “it was a real team effort, right from Adam (Bogdan) in goal to the skipper (http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Davies-c20716) who did brilliantly when he came on.”
It will be interesting to see if Bolton can avoid the drop but at least they have given themselves a fighting chance of playing in the Barclays Premier League next season.
