A bomb threat has recently been made by the by the Dissident Irish Republican terrorists in response to Queen Elizabeth II’s visit to Ireland, a day prior to the Queen’s arrival on Tuesday, May 17, 2011.
The threat has been made by the Dissident Irish Republican terrorists a day before the Queen is scheduled to visit Ireland. The terrorists made their threat while pinpointing Central London.
The already tight security for the Queen’s visit will now be increased even more Security measures such as the deployment of ground to air missiles and the deployment of troops have been taken to ensure the safety of the Queen.
The Queen’s visit on Tuesday is going to be a monumental one since no monarch from the United Kingdom has ever visited Ireland until now.
It will be the first time any British monarch will be coming for a visit since Ireland seized to be a part of the United Kingdom. The last time that a visit of this nature took place was when Ireland was still a part of the United Kingdom, about a century ago.
The stimulus for this visit was the peace process that had been going on between Northern Ireland and England. The process turned out to be successful and the visit is a step towards making relations better between Ireland and England.
Despite the fact that most look forward to the visit as a bright step in the relations of England and Ireland, there are still groups that look towards the United Kingdom with animosity. There is some concern that the visit of the Queen would spark violent street riots in Ireland.
The last time that the same group of terrorists made an attack was in the year, 2001. The bomb explosion took place in a car that was standing next to a shopping centre.
As a result, 11 people were injured. The bomb exploded in West London.
The following statement was released by the police after the bomb threat was made: "Londoners should continue to go about their business as usual but we encourage the public to remain vigilant”.
