  1. As they say "Time heals all wounds." I have a friend who was a young boy growing up in Germany during the war. One of his favorite souvenirs is the shrapnel from the bomb that destroyed their house. He does not have any ill feelings.

  2. Before you start asking if Germany forgives someone  the Germans need to remember that they started WWII, killing millions of innocent civilians  they killed over 12million people in there Concentration camps.

  3. Since the Germans did not kill any civilians during WWII I am sure the bombing of Hamburg still weighs heavily on their minds.

  4. So are you saying that some how the British didn't have the right to retaliate after being attacked?  What is the point of your question?

  5. And we're all well aware that the Germans never harmed a single civilian during the war.

  6. I don't know what the Germans thought, but you get what you give.

  7. Every country has done things it isn't proud of. Germany wasn't exactly the greatest thing to happen to the forties either, buddy. The rise of Nazism, the Holocaust, etc.

  8. No one ever said war was pretty...  But lets see here, 200k civilians vs 6 million Jews.  I suppose you think that's a fair trade?

  9. Its called war.. No one says its right, but when you have someone trying to kill you as Germany did to England during the Blitz, You have to kill them first. Axis powers started it( Germany, Japan, Italy) England responded with exactly what they were given. Ask your question to the civilians that died in the firestorms in London from the bombs dropped by the Germans. My mother and aunts and uncle survived. P.S. My grandfather was at Dunkirk. I'll ask him what he thinks of your question.

  10. What about Dresden and how about Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the fire bombing of Tokyo. Do the English forget that the Germans not only bombed London but shot missile's at it also?

The answer is you start something be prepared to pay the price.

Can the Jews, Russians and Gypsies forget, the Germans murdered millions of them?

  11. Civilians killed during war is NOT always a criminal act.

First thing you need to understand is that Germany was killing millions of civilians ON PURPOSE!

During that time period there were no "smart" weapons, so they had to try to aim the weapons by eye from thousands of feet in the sky. This unfortunately led to many weapons not hitting there targets and killing civilians instead. It is one of the sad truths of war that innocent will be killed no matter how much you try to prevent this.

The U.S. has spent billions of dollars to develop weapons that prevent this. Even still civilians will be killed.

  12. I've lived in Germany, and I never once encountered any anti-English sentiments. Indeed, Germans actually have a genuine affection for the English, and find it both puzzling and hurtful that the war is still continually brought up to this day. I have tried to explain that the English are extremely proud of the men who fought against the n***s, and rightly so. It isn't really taught in English schools that there was a distinction between being a n**i and being German, or that around 30% of concentration camp inmates were German dissenters & academics who hated Hitler, and this lack of knowledge makes it (in my opinion) harder for the English to truly forgive and forget.

Perhaps enough time has passed for people to now acknowledge that German families lost sons, fathers, husbands etc, to a conscription system that meant the firing squad if you refused to join up. It is a source of much sadness & frustration to many Germans that they cannot have a memorial to their war dead, for fear that it will be a magnet/shrine for modern n**i morons & skinheads.

It's time we all forgave the crimes of past generations and concentrated on not making the same mistakes

  13. Civilians will always suffer and be killed during a war it has been this way in every war ever fought. We in the U.S. have not had to face this problem since the War for Southern Independence until 9/11. If war ever comes to the U.S. civilians will die along with the military.
