Bond/Security deposit refund?

I ended a rental lease in Sep 07 and received full bond/security deposit refund.

The person i was renting with decided to stay on and a friend moved in to replace me.

They have now been evicted, and i have been informed that if they do not receive their full bond/security deposit back, then they will come after me for the money.

Reasons they say they'll do this

1. Inspection was not completed until new person moved in to replace me.

2. small stains on carpet, of which i spent $250 to clean up.

3. They believe the realtor sould have charged me for damage, which my realtor deemed unnecessary.

What do i do, i think it is ridiculous, but this person (i thought) was a friend.

I also think it is unfair, as the realtor was happy with the property when i left.

They cannot come after you. Its their fault they got evicted not you.

Talk to the realtor, find out if your name was removed from the lease when you moved out. Also can you find the recepit from the carpet cleaning services? That may give you a good case.

Legally, they can't do anything.
