Bond University wins Men’s 4x50m freestyle relay title: Day three – 2011 Australian University Games
Bond University’s athletes mesmerised the Gold Coast crowd on day three of the 2011 Australian University Games, in Gold Coast, on Thursday, September 29. The session of the meet conducted the Men’s 4x50m freestyle relay race.
In the corresponding swim, the squad of Bond University, Bruce Mcgregor, Chris Dolling, Sam Hourigan and Gene Kubala earned gold medal on the podium by posting a thrilling time of 1 minute and 37.98 seconds.
Queensland University of Technology’s Michael Barker, Drew Martin, Christian Sprenger and Kyle Richardson won silver title on the podium with a winning mark of 1 minute and 38.39 seconds.
Macquarie University’s swimmers including Atte Limatanien, Harrison Pullinger, Christopher Warren and Donald Cameron captured bronze medal in the respective meet with a stunning mark of 1 minute and 38.45 seconds.
In the corresponding race, University of Sydney’s Tim Halliday, Matthew Kan, Sam Mcconnell and Stephen Parkes earned fourth spot with a time of 1 minute and 38.69 seconds. Meanwhile, Monash University’s team of Daniel Cavanagh, Thomas Moreton, Mark O’Donnell
and Zac Charlton settled fifth in a time of 1 minute and 39.86 seconds.
University of Melbourne’s Raymond Mak, Tom Liubinas, Nick Peachey and Dougal Hurley were placed sixth with a mark of 1 minute and 39.96 seconds, while University of New South Wales’ swimming squad of Shaun Abbott, Brendan Irvine, Matthew Spence and Andrew
Kennedy wound up seventh with a time of 1 minute and 40.24 seconds. In the corresponding splash, University of Technology’s team involving Thomas Rhall, James Wee, Sean Yap and Kurt Herzog earned eighth place honours in a time of 1 minute and 43.95 seconds.
Additionally, Australian National University’s athletes comprising of James Tyrrell, Kieran Kelly, Sam Mccormack and Michael Tan settled for ninth position in a time of 1 minute and 52.27 seconds. Last, but not the least, Rmit University’s Nic Lindsay, Aaron
Sandlant Bettio, Peter Woolley and Christian Ricciuti finished tenth with a mark of 1 minute and 53.85 seconds.
