Question:

Bond payment for Childcare in Australia

I'm putting my son into child care for two weeks and have been asked to pay the childcare place a two week bond of the fees.

Originally, I was asked to pay a $50 deposit, but when I went there in person, it was changed to a two week bond.

I feel it may be discrimination against me as I am a student, as the term were changed suddenly and was wondering if this was normal practice?

The child care place is in Queensland.

Thanks for the help!

  1. There should be a child care watch dog in your city - call the Department of Human Services and enquire what is standard - I have never been asked for  a bond ever - first I have heard of it! Check it out!!
