Bonera looking to play in any position and impressed with Milan’s comeback: Serie A news
A.C Milan defender, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniele-Bonera-c10109, has insisted that he is willing to play in any position his manager wants him in.
Bonera got a rare chance against his former employers in the absence of injured, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Nocerino-c6332. The former Italian international’s preferred position is the centre-back but he has revealed his willingness to play anywhere in the backline or even in midfield.
The 30-year-old admitted that he enjoyed the outing against Parma and has told the manager that he can play even in a full-back role.
Bonera said, “I feel at home in the middle of the defence. Saying that, I’ve told the Coach that I’ll play wherever he wants to use me. The most important thing is that the side scores goals and doesn’t concede them.”
The former Brescia defender is delighted with his team’s comeback after a slow start to the 2011/12 season. The Rossoneri have gone on to win three games in a row and have climbed the ladder to sit just two points behind the leaders, Juventus.
Bonera admitted that his team made some big mistakes in the early part of the season and they were also badly hampered by injury problems. However, the former Parma star believes that the Champions have returned to their best form and their recent performances truly reflect their class.
“I think that the League table is starting to show our true worth. We made a few mistakes earlier this season, but it is clear that we were not the side who lost to Juve in Turin.”
Bonera has warned his team ahead of their weekend game against A.S http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 and believes that the Giallorossi are a dangerous side on their home and Milan should continue their good work.
“But now we have to recuperate for this weekend because it won’t be easy to go and face Roma in the capital.” added the stopper
The Italian joined Milan from Parma in 2006 and has gone onto make 91 appearances for the club thus far. The defender also made 16 appearances for the Italian national team before calling it a day in 2008.
