Question:

Bones in tank!!...HELP!!!?

my 65gal tank has bones there really old from my old fishes so can i add some fish with the bones still in it..or do i need to take out the bones??..will it kill my other fishes or what???

  1. Should not do any harm but will rot eventually.  


  2. Whenever you notice dead fish you should take them out of the tank right away - they pollute the water and can make it unbalanced.

    With bones, it's probably a moot point, but I always take them out anyway.

I agree take them out why would you want to leave them in there???  Your other fish will peck at it and that can just not be healthy.  It probabaly will not kill your fish but the first dead fish that was left in the tank is more then likely the cause for the other fish dying.  Any dead fish introduces parasites and diseases.  Would you want to live in a house with bones from someone who died 100 years ago??  Just a though!  Have fun with your new fishes though!

  6. you should have taken the fish out immediately when u saw they were dead but its probably to late now so don't worry i would change the water before adding more fish though
