Bonfire Night to set alight Bangor
We struckout for the first time in quite a while here at Bettor.com yesterday but hopefully that won’t happen again today as Rock Noir will hopefully give us a win.
Running in the Sportech Plc Sir John Hanmer Graduation Chase at Bangor the Jonjo O'Neill trained horse could be the one to beat if he continues his progression over fences. He was a grade 1 hurdler in France before moving to England.
He struggled to adapt on his first race on English soil, finishing 21/28 at Cheltenham in March, but the move to steeplechasing seems to have worked for him.
He didn’t jump well first-time-out, still managing to finish second, but managed to learn from his first run to win a novice chase at Exeter last month. He’ll go on the ground and with certain Mr McCoy on board a win could certainly be on the cards, despite the tough opposition.
The Anne Duchess Of Westminster Memorial Handicap Chase could see Buffalo Bob first over the line. He seems to do best on a testing surface and runs off a competitive of 125 today. He’s a front runner and if he sets a good pace the rest of the field might find it hard to catch him.
Bonfire Night could really sparkle in the Coral Juvenile Maiden Hurdle today if he improves on his hurdling debut. That was in a listed race at Wetherby last month where he finished sixth and didn’t jump too badly. The ground is certainly a concern but it will be for everyone and if there is some progress the 2m 1f trip shouldn’t be too far of a stretch.
