Is this a zip code or something like it? Here in Kewaskum, WI in the US, this is our zip code- funny it is the same

  1. Yes, it's the ZIP code, and it correctly  should be in front of the city name.

    German ZIP-codes used to be four digit for decades until reunification. Then they added the fifth digit to integrate the east German towns into the system.


  2. Yes. It is one of the Postleitzahl (Zip Codes) for Bonn.  Specifically, it seems to be a code used for range of Post Office Boxes (Postfach).

    Using http://plz1.postdirekt.de/plzserver/PlzS... , enter 53040 in the PLZ field and click on Suchen (search).

    yes it is the zip code. Bonn would have some different ones too, depending on what part of the town. They would all be the same in the first few numbers though. (53...)

    In Germany they write the Zip before the town. And the house number after the street.

  5. It's the postal code. Hamburg has something like 22351. Depends on the part you stay what postal code you have.
