  1. Dusseldorf, Dusseldorf, Dusseldorf! It is is beautiful here!

  2. I prefer Dusseldorf, there is nicer.

  3. Definately Düsseldorf! It has a really beautyful river bank and nice pubs. Besides there is the Kö, a shopping street where you might find some high-society people. And Bonn is ugly!

When you're in Köln/Cologne: don't forget to visit the Chocolate Museum! It's great!

  4. I'm living in Bonn, but for a visitor I would say go to Dusseldorf, because it is bigger and you could do some more shoppings etc.

Bonn is more a smaller town, but with nice museums and parcs.

  5. Depends on what you're looking for, I guess. Düsseldorf is a great place for shopping - steer clear of the Kö, that's just for looking because it's outrageously expensive. Instead, got o the Schadow-Arkaden nearby, and also check out the second hand shop that's on the first floor to your right as you take the "Altstadt" exit for the Heinrich Heine Straße subway stop. If you walk through the old town towards the Schlossturm, there's a cute little shop that specialises in all things chocolate, and a bit to the other side, there's the Löwensenf store with products made from or related to Düsseldorf's famous mustard brand.

As for non-shopping activities, go to the old harbour area and check out Frank Gehry's wacky buildings there, they are a sight to see.

As for Bonn, it's a lot smaller, but has quite a bit of old arhcitecture. You may want to check out the universiy area. There's also a great museumm called the arithmeum. It's a museum of mathematiocs, but fun all the same - old adding machines and the like, unique and well explained.

In either case, consider making your trip not by train or car but by boat. There are several connections and it's a fun ride that'll let you appreciate the beauty of the Rhine.

  6. Wuppertal!!! (It's just 20-30 mins from Duesseldorf and my hometown with trains running over the river hanging upside down) :o)
