  1. I looked up resources from 1880-1935 for St. Louis, St. Louis Co, East St. Louis, IL and even the States of Missouri and Illinois. There were people with that name, but they were wool weavers in a mill, working in a laundromat, bakers in a bakery, etc. I also checked alternative spellings. There weren't many people with that name in the whole US. I also looked for Bannacker and Bannacher, still no one of affluence.

You can check with the St. Louis Historical Commission, but don't be surprised if you have fallen into a folk tale.

  2. Check with the St Louis  Main Library and inquire if they have a collection of  St. Louis City Directory's. (Not a Cris-Cross Directory published by Cole's).  You should be able to find your people circa your time frame.  Also, ask for a look-up in "Who is Who in St. Louis" circa your time frame and you may find your people, if Socially Prominent, written up with much detail. I would also check with the Library to see if they have a surname index for the local news paper for your time frame.  Good Luck to You !

  3. thats interesting did u try to do an internet search i mean if they were real important it should be on the web i for one dont rememeber anything from 100 years ago sorry wish i did
