Boogie board: the best Christmas gift received by David Wright ever-MLB Update
New York Mets’ third baseman, David Wright, has rated Boogie board as the best Christmas gift he has ever received. He has stated this while giving an interview about his Christmas celebration.
Wright has discussed how he spends the day and stays with his family.
He has explained that in the past he used to get presents from others but now he loves giving them to his friends and family members.
His brothers make him buy expensive gifts for them as he enjoys the whole Christmas by hanging out with them.
Responding to a question related to his recent contract extension from the Mets, Wright has revealed that the number of recipients of his presents has increased after an extravagant $138 million deal that he signed.
Demands of his brothers with regard to getting Christmas presents from Wright have upgraded as they ask for valuable gifts now.
Their expectations have increased almost proportionately to the recent jump in the salary of Wright.
Wright has mentioned his past and how he would go to the Virginia Beach to spend the whole day of Christmas there with friends.
“I grew up in Virginia Beach and my friends and I used to always go to the beach. So I would say at one point growing up, I was a wannabe boogie boarder, the surfer type. I remember getting a boogie board one year for Christmas and it was awesome. I would
bring it out to the beach with my friends and try to fit in, try my best to act like I knew what I was doing," Wright said.
During the last season, his counterpart third baseman Chipper Jones from the Atlanta Braves also received surfer as gift but he did not know how to use it.
Unlike Jones, Wright has a fair amount of experience in using boogie board.
Wright will be aware of the challenges ahead as Spring Training is not too far away now.
He will be conscious of the expectations of the fans, especially after his contract extension.
It will be interesting to see how he lives up to them and leads the Mets to heights of success next year.
