Book comparison with Goodnight Mister Tom?

For English Literature A Level coursework we have to compare two books, any ideas of what book I can compare Goodnight Mister Tom to?

If you are allowed to compare two books by the same author you could choose Back Home which was also written by Michelle Magorian.  It would be a good one to compare to Goodnight Mister Tom because it is also about a child who is evacuated due to the war but it is a girl so is told from a girls point of view.  You could compare differences between male and female points of view.  The other difference is that she is evacuated to America which is a good comparison to the countryside where Wille is sent.  Most of the story in Back Home is how the girl has to re-adjust to being back in England after evacuation as she really misses her American family and finds her Mother and England boring and austere.  Both have similar themes - how they thrive with the people they are sent to.  Struggling with issues of going home.  If they won't allow you to do this other WWII books that are good are The Machine Gunners by Robert Westall and Carrie's War by Nina Bawden.  Check out the link below to a good website.
