Book idea - stupid or good?

Question

I want to write a book about disney princesses in real life ("If My Life Was a Disney Movie" with things based on the movies The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Aladdin, Mulan, Pocahontas, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White). It would be a book for tweens and maybe younger teens. Is this a good idea, or is it stupid?

I think that'd be so cute! I'm a young teen and I would definitely give it a try.

You can technically use the characters that Disney did not invent. Cinderella has been a tale modified many times over. Pocahontis was real. lladin came from that huge book from the east.

As far as I know, you can make references to things in books.

But the Disney movie title... I dont know about that. I think there's tons of copywrights on it and you would get sued really bad if you got published.

As a young published poet, I must admit it doesn't sound like something I would read. Also, you need a permit to use these characters since they are copywrited by the Disney Company (this only applies if you are interested in getting it published).

No, don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to say that you shouldn't write a book about that, I'm just saying that I wouldn't read it.

So keep writing and dream big!

     I think it's an excellent idea, but I'd be a bit cautious of copyright.  It might be a plan to get hold of a lawyer and ask his advice.  Either that, or you could write to Disney direct, (I'm sure their address is on the Net), and see what they think.   Hope this helps,

Little girls would probably love it, but wouldn't you need permission from Disney to use these characters?

But dont make it to powdery and sugary and majical stuff.

Like make it somewhat modern, and have them like have attitudes and everything. It would be cool.

Like Sleeping Beauty would have a 'mean girl' attitude, Ariel (little mermaid) would be like an enviromentalist.. etc.

I think it would be an awesome idea!

i think that's that a great idea! If it got published and became a major book i know i'd buy it for my little cousin! She loves Disney Princesses! lol it's not stupid it's really neat and creative!
