I live in Spain, so the 'readitswapit' UK website isn't much help to me, does any ex-pats living in Spain know of, or would help start a book swapping system here?

  3. Hi, first of all what part of Spain do you live in? It would be of great help to establish where you are talking about.

I'm in  Cadiz and you can swap books in various places. If you're in the south why don't you do a day trip and take in the sites.

In Puerto Santa Maria there is a second hand bookshop in Vistermosa and you can  buy or swap books.  The website is http://www.stabooksonline.com/ or ring 00 34 956 540 220.

Molly Malone's bar in Puerto also has a book swap system, people just bring in their books and swap them for others on the shelves.

Also there is an English bookshop in Vejer and I think you can swap/ buy buy books there, new and second hand.

El Corte Inglés in Jerez has a section of English books as does La Luna Nueva in Jerez.

If you're interested in buying books on-line and you are not near a big city or town. You can buy on-line with

http://www.bookworldespana.com/ check out their website they have shops on the Costa Blanca / Costa Del Sol and Madrid.

As for a book swapping system  it really depends on where you are You could try some of the international schools and place up ad's . If you are in the south of Spain try and contact some of the groups like the IWA or the Women's book club as they  have book  readings and coffee days on a regular basis.

Sorry I  can't be of more help if you do have any luck  do post it  and let me know how you get on.

    Good luck.

  4. I am not  a reader sad to say, BUT here on the costa there are 2 good 2nd hand books shops, one in  Fuengirola, and the other situated on the San Miguel, smack in the center of Torremolinos, they do a really good trade, on all types of books, and I beleive they do do swaps.....................
