Book trouble! Where the red fern grows.?

I was wondering if the book Where the red fern grows would be appropriate for a 5th grader and also I am a boy. Would it be too hard?

I remember this book from when I was younger.  Go for it!  It's a great book for your age group.

I read that book in fifth grade. It should be just fine. If you're really sensitive, keep in mind that the ending is very sad, or at least was for my class.

Nope it should be about perfect for you as long as you're reading on grade level. If you are a lower reader it might be hard but you should still be able to understand it just take your time.

I read the book in sixth grade. It was fantastic, and everyone around me loved it. It's appropriate for the fifth/sixth grade range.
