Booking Name Does Not Match Passport Name?

I've just booked a flight from ryanair and filled in first name / last name, but don't exactly match my passport?

my reservation says i.e John Smith, but my passport says

i.e John Robert Smith

is this still ok, or does the booking have to be exactly the same names to go on the flight?

my daughter regularly has this situation as she has two different passports (dual nationality) and in one of her passports her name is i.e Jane Smith and in the other i.e Jane Rachel Smith.

I book her flight as Jane Smith.....and we have NEVER had a problem.

This would be OK.  Robert Smith would also be OK on the Ryanair booking if Robert is the name the person uses daily.

But Bob Smith would not be OK.
