Question:

Booking a cruise - additional person question?

Not too long ago I was looking up cruises online....and there was one site that I was looking on that had the prices of the cruise per person for the first two people...and then it had cheaper price for an additional person after that (say the 3rd and 4th person)

For ex: A carnival cruise was $250 a person for the first 2 people...but the 3rd or 4th person in the same room was only $125

I can't remember what site I was looking on that had that....does anyone know?!!?!? I looked on orbitz, vacationstogo....I just can't remember where I was looking.

  1. Go to Carnival's web site or call them. I had troubles with my last cruise when I booked with another website/company other than the cruise line.  You will get it for the same price and when you and if you have problems you can fall back on the cruise line. A bit of advice fly into the port a day ahead of your departure.

  2. That is normal for all Carnival Cruises, I travel with my husband and 2 sons and we always get 1 room, it has 2 upper berths.  the price is always less for the 3rd and 4th and the best place to look is Carnival, I have never found lower prices anywhere else than going right through them

  3. Royal Caribbean has a cheaper 3rd and 4th guest. Just go to their website. forget orbitz and all that. The cheaper prices are at the company website.

  4. Any site or agent should have the pricing you mention because that is how all the cruise lines sell their cabins.  The first two people in the room pay the full per person fare.  Any additional people pay a discounted 3rd/4th person fare.

By the way, if you are in a suite that can sleep more than four, all the additional people pay the reduced fare.  For example, last June I was on the Freedom of the Seas in a Royal Family suite with six people total.  The first two pay $4,000 each and the last four paid $1,000 each.  The total for all six was $12,000 or $2,000 per person as a average.  I bought that cruise through a travel agent.

So, any site or agency should offer you a reduced fare for the third and fourth person in the same cabin.
