I have a virtual card with funds on it I am looking to use...I am going to book a hotel online, but am wondering if booking with a virtual card, that is not under my name, then checking in will work? Can I just give them one of my physical credit cards when I check in? Thanks.

  1. When you check into a hotel, you need to provide a credit card, but it doesn't have to be the same one you used to reserve the room in the first place.  The card you provide when you check in is used to pay for incidental charges (room service, etc.) and for the room itself if you haven't paid already.

Ok, so if you paid for your room at the time you made your reservation, then the card you gave at that time will be the one the room is charged to.  If you simply made the reservation in advance without paying in advance, then the cost of the room is charged to whatever card you give when you check in.

    I hope this helps you.
