Booking a hotel?

Do i need a credit card to book a hotel? It's in the same country so i'm not travelling abroad. Can i just go in and pay?

  1. You give your credit card to guarantee the reservation. If you don't show up, they will charge you a no show fee (typically one night accomodation). If you do show up, you pay when you leave.


  2. When you book a room, you have to pay.  The hotel is not going to keep a room for you unless you pay first, otherwise run the risk of not getting a room at all. .

  3. Not if you want to book in advance. The hotel has to protect themselves against people who make bookings and then just do not turn up. Empty rooms do not create income!

    You could just go on spec but that's a chance you'll have to take

    Or just walk in, check for vacancies and pay cash

    You'd be dissapointed if you never booked first than to turn up and get turned away
