Booking hotel rooms?

I seem to always get better rates when I contact and book through the hotels directly. Have you compared rates between the travel agencies versus direct booking?

  1. I"m going to vegas too in sept, and people tell me to book well in advance.  I'm finding I get better deals gooing through the hotel directly and cking last minute, like 3 days before rather than a month or 2.  maybe they are just desparate to fill rooms that haven't already been sold.  just a though, oh, you can ck availability and price without actually purchasing or comitting.  ck it out though.

  2. You get better rates when you book through the hotels directly. In addition it is the best to book with a hotel promotion code. A good resource for that is http://www.vegas-hotels-online.com.

  3. Yes, contacting the Hotel is always the best bet especially if you are a member because you earn points = comps...Remember what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Good Luck and have fun!!!

  4. Travel agencies are a luxury not the cheap option, to get the best rate you need to book directly with the hotel using a link with a disocunt code, book as far ahead as you can and as long as you dont book a non refundable rate (this is clear when booking) you are guarenteed to get the best rate. The reason that you will getthe best rate is that if the rate drops after you book you contact the hotel and they will drop your rate to match, you also only pay the first night as a deposit and this is fully refundable up to 48 hours before check in if your plans change.

  5. You can try hotel search in http://www.AmericaCheapHotels.com where you can read hotel details, reviews and comments, see photos and its physical locations through maps, details about important nearby locations ....

Best thing is you can compare the USA/worldwide hotel prices in any city in any country in your local currency.

You can find good deals because this compares hotel prices from 30 best travel websites.

You can even able to filter out hotel by its features such as Star hotels,Business Center, Room Service, High-speed Internet, Fitness Room, Restaurant Parking, Swimming pool, Pets Allowed, Airport shuttle, Handicap Accessible, Concierge ...

Access lots of USA and worldwide travel information.

  6. I always book directly with the hotel because the hotel rates are always for two people while the rates on web sites like Travelocity and Expedia that sell packages are always per person and based on double occupancy.  So you spend more on your room on those sites.  Now Hotels.com may give you a rate for two, but then you may as well go to the Las Vegas hotel sites.  If you use a site like Harrah.com or MGM.com   (web sites I have listed below) they will allow you to compare rates at their partner hotels for the same dates.  And when you go on the sites there are usually specials listed with a link to them.  So you don't need a promotion code, the code specials are listed on the Vegas hotel web sites; you just have to look for them and click on the right link.

  7. Booking separately is the way to go these days. As far as hotel rooms are concerned, booking directly from the hotels using their discount promotion codes will save you a bundle

  8. Hotels are now giving great rates when booking direct with them. They save the fees that they have to give to those travel sites. Travel sites will soon go the way of travel agents. Airlines did this awhile back when they stopped giving discounts to travel agents and then travel sites.

I am sure you are aware that you save money by going direct and booking seperately rather than package deals.
